Show description: Interior Violence features a collection of 24 paintings tied together by an installation inclusive of toys, heart-shaped shag carpets, lamps, astroturf, pink walls, and the ghost of Virginia Woolf. The paintings portray a far-away realm, in the not so very distant future, where womxn with traumatic pasts magically grow into giants. Frame by frame, we travel with the womxn as they hunt for new homes that might fit their newly massive bodies. Objects float through the paintings as if thrown from a manicured hand. Pontiac sedans, bed frames, vanities, battleships, lamps, books, knives, nightstands, and poodles sprinkle the scenes of apocalyptic domestic destruction.

An utter fantasy, Interior Violence, depicts a portrait of a real moment after trauma, when victims gather enough strength to grow through, if not beyond, the horror of their pasts.
